This weekend we looked after our young niece and nephew, which while tiring, was nowhere near as scary as I thought it would be! I always imagined I'd be such a soft touch when it comes to kids and that I wouldn't be able to cope, but it turns out I'm a lot more in control than I ever thought I would be. Watching Bill with them was charming and heart warming - he really will make a wonderful father one day. Gives us hope for the future! Ha! We also spent time with the best of friends and their 9 year old son who is the best behaved, cutest boy. You can't buy good parenting! Aside from that we enjoyed some evening sun, good food and I did some painting (a snippet of which is bottom left). I hope you all had good weekends (and good Mondays). Here's hoping the summer arrives this week, yes?! (although I realise this only applies to the UK...not that I'm jealous or anything...)

That New York City print is fantastic. I also love the little 'snippet' of your painting. I bet it's going to be amazing! Have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! The NYC print is going to be in my online shop whenever I can get the time to open it!!
DeleteBeing an aunt is the greatest! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteHello! Thanks for visiting my blog and your very lovely comment. It's a pleasure to discover your blog too. And I love your photography. Great print too - looking forward to discovering more! x
ReplyDeleteooo, painting! i can't wait to see the whole thing! :) i bought some tiny canvas boards to play around with my pastels on, but so far i haven't had any time to do so. can i live vicariously through you?
ReplyDeletei remember babysitting was a bit of a nightmare sometimes, due to the children being (possibly literally) monsters...it does make it easier when the parents have actually parented properly, and taught the kids some manners! i'm not sure if i'll ever be having kids, but i do think that i'll have to read up on some parenting strategies if i ever get pregnant. :)
Oh yes please, would love some sun! Well it was out this morning but that didnt last...loving the NYC print in the top left pic x
ReplyDeleteThese are from your PHONE? Amazing shots. Those flowers at the end are just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. Yes I use the VSCO CAM app, I'm obsessed with it!

ReplyDeleteIt looked like it was sunshiny over your weekend. Looking forward to seeing a shop opening.
ReplyDeleteWell it poured with rain all Saturday but in the evening the sun came out - so lovely. And then Sunday was really nice where we are. We had a mini-few-hours-summer! ha.
DeleteJo, glad y'all survived the weekend with the children. They seem so exhausting but are so funny at times. I still don't know if I have the patience to be around one ALL the time but it's good to get some practice in there once in awhile
